Active within the Technology, Cyber, Space, Telecoms, Security & Defence sectors primarily, Melanie has over 25 years experience in senior sales & business development positions directing sales strategy, managing teams and client relationships for major outsourcing organisations in multiple sectors. She has extensive government and commercial expertise and relationships within both the secure/ military space community and industry supplier base.
As the Founder/ Owner and Director of a successful consultancy business, which operates into the Defence, Security, Space and Datacentre Sectors with clients such including Airbus Defence & Space, Catapult, NATS, Sodexo, CH2M Hill and Babcock (JuMelia Ltd), she networks within groups advising the government’s critical national infrastructure and the Catapult/ UK Space Agency.
She also serves as Non-Executive Director of a cyber security business (RazorSecure Ltd) and currently consults as acting Chief Marketing Officer for a Hong Kong based hyperscale datacenter business (Chayora Ltd).
Her last corporate full-time role was as Business Development Director of Serco Defence, Space & National Security, managing a portfolio of £172m and developed extensive international outsourcing services experience, co-ordinating strategy across teams in the US, Middle East and ASPAC.
Previously she has been a Member of the ADS (Aerospace, Defence & Security) Security Strategy Board, RUSI and Tech UK. She has represented SMEs as a key member of the Steering Committee for Innovation South and is regularly invited to speak at events and to sit on start-up advisory panels. Melanie was an advisor to the Enterprise M3 (Hampshire/ Surrey) LEP, working at Board level to drive growth across a wide range of SMEs and is an active member of several Women in Technology and Women on Boards groups with a number of retained private coaching & mentoring relationships in the wider business sector.
She has a BA (Hons) in French/ Italian and loves to travel and learn smatterings of new languages.
