Clutch Space Systems Ltd, a UK -based SME focused on removing the cost and complexity from satellite communications, announces the appointment of Ricky D’Costa as Business Development Manager. Ricky has a multidisciplinary background in Satellite Physics and Entrepreneurship and is a Masters Graduate of University of Surrey, UK in Physics (MPhys) with Satellite technology.
Prior to joining Clutch Space he worked for Airbus Defence & Space as Spacecraft Test Facility Business Developer and is capable of leading both sales and engineering conversations with potential customers and internal engineers. He was responsible for the market research, marketing plan and strategy for Airbus’ Stevenage test facilities. Previously a research student in Nuclear Testing at National Physical Laboratory, he specialised in α-particle spectroscopy techniques.

With an interest in entrepreneurship Ricky has a raft of pitching experience, having achieved 2nd Runners up in a Google Sponsored Start-up event called TechStars Powering Space where the vision of the team was to deliver power to other spacecraft wirelessly in space. He has also represented University of Surrey in an entrepreneurial start-up event, developing a product from idea to prototype in 3 days.
